International Flying Dutchman Class Organization

FD Sailing is organized worldwide by the International Flying Dutchman Class Organization (IFDCO) which coordinates the activities of national FD organizations such as the IFDCAUS.  The IFDCO is our link to the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) that governs the entire sport of sailing.  Each year, the IFDCO oversees the World and Continental championships, helping to facilitate planning, logistics and funding of these important events.  The international class organization also hosts a variety of news and communications outlets and publications to help promote the class and keep FD sailors in touch around the world.

We also like to assist our friends in Canada and Mexico and to encourage our friends across the border to participate in any of our events.  It’s a big continent and we want to stick together!  Each year the US Class sponsors a North American Championship.  During the Olympic years this was a very international event.  One of our goals is to once again count on many competitors attending this event.
